 An Awesome Tennis Racquet at a great price |

I bought the Wilson K Six.Two tennis racquet for my daughter who has decided to play on her high school tennis team. Her coach and another high school tennis coach I know recommended the Wilson N Sixt Two,but Wilson no longer makes that racquet. They've replaced it with the K Six.Two, which delivers both power and a great sense of touch, making it extremely effective at both the net and the baseline. My daughter reported an improvement in her game from the first time she used the racquet.
I had looked all over the Internet hoping to avoid the $180 price tag. Late, late one evening I decided to check Amazon. They were offering the Wilson K Six.Two in a price range of $44 (price mistake?)to $159. At $159, it was a good buy, but at $44 with free shipping it was the deal of a lifetime. I paid $44 for a brand new Wilson K Six.Two racquet. My daughter loves her new racquet and her daddy loves the great deal! Thank you, Amazon!! |

A lighter, yet inspired design!

My first thought of the new 2009 Babolat Pure Drive GT series was, "Wow, the coolest looking racquet I've ever seen!" The vivid sky blue color and white stripes reminded me of racing stripes on fast performance cars. My eyes could not help but stare at such a beautiful design. I've been playing with my trusty Prince Graphite 90 for so many years and have never felt comfortable with any of the new models...until now. I have played with the Roddick GT, the heavier version, and will be replacing my Prince soon.
This GT is the little brother of the Roddick GT, and mainly because it is a lighter model. Although too light for my style, it is a very capable stick for players preferring the lighter weight. This new version is so much improved from last year's model in every way! Most noticeable is the better feel. It is surprisingly solid for backhand slices and volleys, much easier than my Prince Graphite. The 100 sq in really created a big sweet-spot, enabling me to hit winners on the run! Don't let the big head size fool you. It's stable and maneuverable for volleys as well as accurate ground-strokes. With better strings, it will play even better than the demo set-up I tried (which is usually cheap strings at lower tension than it should be). This is one of the rare models that I felt totally comfortable hitting with! And strangely, it makes you feel like you're driving an exotic sports car with a cool paint job!
Now I have to point out a few negatives as far as my playing style is concerned. Keep in mind that I am a more advanced player with a lot of power. I like the Roddick GT more due to the heavier weight. This Pure Drive GT felt a bit light and my shots did not have the punch of the Roddick GT. Also, it did not feel as solid. Vibration control was excellent due to the dampening technology in the design yet still maintained a lot of feel. So many racquets today have lost that "feel" due to over-engineering! This year's Pure Drive series are simply amazing in how they've managed to balance the power and feel. Yes, you DO have to put a little more topspin and have a fast stroke to keep it in the court...but if you do, this GT is a serious weapon! I've never been so confident in hitting winners from the baseline until trying the 2 GT models. The Roddick GT is more powerful and geared towards the stronger players, but the Pure Drive GT version will be an effective stick for many players. It's my favorite all-around racquet pick for 2009, providing the versatility of powerful ground-strokes and serves, stable volleying, and great looks. |

I couldn't be happier with my Bolle Parole Tennis Sunglasses. They do exactly what they are supposed to do, and I'm not squinting on the tennis courts anymore. I was hoping they would make me a champion player; that hasn't happened yet, but I'm not giving up. They were also excellent when we went kayaking for eliminating glare from the water.
Two of my friends have already gone to Amazon.com to order a pair for themselves. |
